Story

Jorogumo is a Yokai creature from Japanese folklore.

It can transform to be a beautiful woman to seduce and capture travelers in the forest.

My Process

I begin by sketching the concept in clay. Once I'm happy with the design, I 3D scan the sculpture and bring it into ZBrush, where I refine the forms and add the final details. After that, I hand-paint each piece with acrylic paints.

This piece comes in a beautiful wooden box and is carefully packed with hand-cut foam for protection.
